Hispanic Ministry

The Fairbanks area hosts a large Hispanic population, and the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks is pleased to be able to offer certain ministries and services to these parishioners.  Spanish Mass is celebrated at 1:00 PM every Sunday (as well as certain special Holy Days) at Sacred Heart Cathedral.  In addition, a Spanish speaking priest is available for the following:

  • Visits to Spanish speaking patients at the local hospital and nursing homes, as well as to inmates at Fairbanks Correctional Facility.

  • Instruction in the Sacraments, such as Baptism and Marriage, for those Spanish speaking Catholics who do not speak English.

  • The Sacrament of Reconciliation / Penance in Spanish.

  • Occasionally may assist in interpretation.
