The Safe Environment program includes preventing abuse of children and vulnerable adults by diocesan personnel or volunteers, recognizing signs of abuse and responding to signs of abuse within the community served by the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks.
Workers and volunteers helping in the ministries of the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks are screened, then trained and educated in the polices of the Safe Environment program. Written policies are distributed to workers and volunteers, who acknowledge in writing they received and understood the policies. A Safe Environment Coordinator assists in implementing the Abuse Policy in the parishes, schools, and other locations of the Catholic Diocese of Fairbanks.
