Religious Education Certification Program

The Office of Religious Education has the following courses and workshops on Video\DVD available for borrowing and use at home. These are the required courses and workshops for Religious Education Certification in the Diocese of Fairbanks. Diocese of Fairbanks parish members can also request the Basic Level Workshops be given at their parish.


Level I - Basic Certification in Religious Education
(3 hours per workshop)

Vision and Methods of Religious Education
(Including Catechesis for Persons with Disabilities)

Workshop 2
Overview of Theology and Doctrine of the Catholic Church
Spirituality of the Catechist


Level II - Advanced Certification - Theological Studies
(18 hours per course)

Course 1
Theology Component Overview (Echoes of Faith)

Course 2
Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John

Course 3

Foundation and History of the Catholic Church

Course 4

Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles and Missionary Journeys of Saint Paul

Course 5

Introduction to the Old Testament
(will be offered at the Chancery in the Fall of 2009)
